Shipping policy

How much does shipping cost?

Our postage is displayed at checkout and varies depending on the size, weight and delivery area of the items to be posted. Postage can also be calculated in your shopping cart by entering your postcode. Standard shipping ranges from $11.00 to $32.00 per order, and $16.50 to $33.50 for express post orders. "Bulky" and "oversized" items attract an additional shipping charge and this is dependent on the delivery area. Express post is available for most small to medium product combinations. When available, express post is selectable as a shipping method at the checkout.

FREE delivery to Bribie Island and surrounds

We deliver for FREE to our local postcodes 4507 and 4511. There is no minimum spend and bulky items are delivered for free. Free delivery is offered as a delivery option at the Checkout after entering a valid address.

How long will my order take to arrive?

Orders placed before 12:00PM AEST on Mon-Fri are generally dispatched (Brisbane metro) on the same business day and all other orders are dispatched on the next business day. Orders placed on a weekend are processed and shipped on the next business day.

Please be advised that we are on a holiday break from 20/05/2026 to 31/05/2026. Orders received within this period will be dispatched as soon as we return on 01/06/2026.

Australia Post Express 1-4 business days*
Standard Post by Australia Post and Couriers 2-8 business days*
Local delivery Generally the same or next business day

*This time is estimated by Australia Post based on packages up to 5kgs. Delivery can take longer to rural and country WA, remote TAS, Far North QLD, and NT. Please allow extra time for this. We also send by Courier and estimated times can vary.

We do our best to ensure your packages are shipped on the same business day, however, we ask for your understanding with unforeseen circumstances that can occur during shipping through Australia Post or Courier companies.

During peak periods which includes sale periods (Easter, EOFY Sales, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas, Boxing Day and End of Year Sales) shipping companies can experience delays in delivery due to volume. We're sorry for the inconvenience that this causes and are also very disappointed when there are delays as we strive to get our products to you as quickly as we can.

Shipping Methods

We use Australia Post or a Courier service for standard shipping and Australia Post for express shipping. Orders are carefully and securely packaged. Local delivery is in person.

International postage is currently not automatically calculated. Please contact us to discuss options for shipping internationally.

My package is late/overdue, what should I do?

We're sorry to hear there has been a delay. Here's what we first suggest:

  1. Please check the tracking number provided and make sure there isn’t a delay listed by the carrier (see Tracking Numbers, above).
  2. Check that you have supplied the correct delivery address for your order and that your contact details are correct.
  3. Check to see if the Courier driver or Australia Post have left an attempted delivery card. Your parcel may be awaiting collection at the local post office.
  4. Also check any safe areas that the driver may have left your parcel, such as behind posts or inside the gate.
  5. If this doesn't work, please contact us, making note of your order and invoice number and we will look into it immediately.

Can I redirect my delivery?

Redirecting a parcel once the item has been shipped needs to be done by you, by contacting the carrier directly. The contact information of our carriers is provided through the tracking information provided upon sending. If you have not yet received this email, it is possible that we have not yet sent the parcel and you can contact us to change the address.

Unfortunately, The Independence Shop does not have the authority to redirect a parcel once it has been collected by a Courier or sent via Australia Post.
