Choosing a neck light that's perfect for you

What's the best neck light for reading?

Choosing a neck reading light involves considering factors such as brightness, colour temperature, comfort, flexibility, power source, battery life and additional features. Here are some tips to help you make an informed decision when choosing the best neck light for reading:

BRIGHTNESS AND INTENSITY
- Look for a light with adjustable brightness levels to suit your reading preferences and the time of the day.
- A neck reading light with more lumens will give a brighter illumination, and will be more practical for uses beyond reading.
- Check that the beam is focused, otherwise the LED light will illuminate areas beyond the book and perhaps not offer enough light while reading. Without a more focused beam of light, others may find the light distracting.

COLOUR TEMPERATURE
- Consider a neck light with a colour temperature options so that you can find which colour is most comfortable for your reading. A warmer colour temperature (around 2700K-3000K) is often preferred for evening reading.

FLEXIBILITY AND COMFORT
- A neck light that bends and flexes, yet stays in place once adjusted can be most comfortable and give the ideal angle and position for optimal lighting. Weigh up the size of the neck light and the size required for functionality.

POWER SOURCE AND BATTERY LIFE
- Generally neck lights for reading are rechargeable and will come with the power cord to plug into a USB adapter.
- What is important is to consider is how long you will get on one charge and how long it will last before the neck light needs to be recharged.
- Features such as 'optional timer' after a certain time can be handy if you're likely to drift off to sleep.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS
- Consider reading customer reviews to learn about the experiences of others who have purchased the same light. This can provide insights into the durability and performance of the product. Issues such as being hot to the touch, problems charging and flickering are common issues.

BUDGET AND AESTHETICS
- Like most products, neck lights for reading can be cheap or expensive and come in a range of looks. These considerations come down to personal preference, usage, and the right balance of price vs quality to find the best neck light for reading, for you.

By considering these factors, you can find a neck reading light that best fits your needs and enhances your reading experience.

Thank you, Christine! We're happy you love your new neck light. :)

I love my neck light

I love my neck light. It's so versatile and easy to use and charge. I've used it in hospital and the staff were impressed by the fact I could still read and crochet by a good strong light, yet not disturb any one else with the light like some personal lights do. The fun choice of colours always makes me smile as I chose the bubblegum purple and friends always comment that only I could have a light in my favourite colour 💜🦋

Seniors like to deal with Australian companies.

I am 80 years old and a very strong supporter of Australian-owned companies.

I needed a special "Information Clock" for my wife who has short-term memory loss. I checked several websites and selected The Independence Shop as they are Australian and their presentation was good quality.

They sent follow-up emails and I thanked them for their information and their business style. I will deal with them if we need other seniors-helpers and refer our friends when they need them.

I wish Chris and Rosie best wishes for their future.
