    Long reachers are commonly used as dressing aids, for picking up rubbish and other hard-to-reach items, and for pinching bottoms (just kidding, don't do that!).

    Is a long reacher a suitable grabber for older adults? Yes, the long reacher is suitable for older adults with a normal grip strength.*

    * Please note that this long reacher has been built for durability and effective grabbing. It requires a normal grip strength to squeeze the handle and manoeuvre objects. For individuals with a weakened wrist or hand grip strength, we recommend the Etac reacher with wrist support and the Etac active reacher.

    Long reacher - a useful tool

    Long reachers help to firmly grip objects without the need for bending or overextending. The long reacher can clasp and release objects up to 14cm and the head can be rotated to avoid the strain of twisting the arm and wrist. The rubber grips line the jaws and this helps to securely grasp and hold objects. You'll find the magnet on the side surprisingly strong, picking up magnetic metal objects such as keys and screwdrivers with ease.

    Long reachers are most commonly used:

    • in fall prevention to reach objects that otherwise require bending or extending too far
