Designed and made in Australia, the EzyAs™ compression stocking applicator is the popular, reliable and recommended sock and stocking aid of choice. The compression stocking applicator solves the challenge of donning compression socks and stockings with its quick and easy application of compression stockings over the foot, ankle, and up the leg. Plus, take the compression sock or stocking off again with less reaching and strain!

The compression stocking applicator is made of a sturdy plastic that works time after time, and comes with a lifetime warranty. The design accounts uniquely for the heel, reducing the need for pointing the toe when donning the compression stocking. The optional EzyAs handle attachment helps to pull the compression stocking up without bending and is designed to fit any size applicator in the EzyAs™ range.

  • Suitable for Class 1 (CCLI 15mmHg to 21mmHg) and Class 2 (CCLII 20mmHg to 32mmHg) compression stockings
  • Suitable for both open- and closed-toe compression stockings
  • 100% lifetime warranty
  • Made in Australia
  • The EzyAs is an ARTG registered medical device (288696)

The compression stocking applicator is designed to assist people with mobility limitations, injuries, lower body aches and pains, or who have undergone surgery by making it easier to slide the foot into the sock and evenly pull it up. The compression stocking applicator also assists carers to dress patients in tight-fitting compression garments. In the healthcare industry, the compression stocking applicator is used for patient dressing, and avoids movement and discomfort of the limb.

The compression stocking applicator reduces the difficulty and pain often involved in putting on upper and lower limb compression garments, stockings, and socks. It can also be used for applying arm garments, sleeves, and gauntlets.

Helpful tips for the compression stocking applicator

    • For those who have limited hand strength, we recommend use of the Ezy Glove both to pull the compression stocking around the applicator, and to pull the compression stocking up the leg.
    • The optional handle attachment helps with poor balance and difficulty reaching the feet.
    • Another option for individuals with restricted movement is to place the applicator on the floor and to lower the foot into the stocking while standing. Use the support of a sturdy table or chair. This suggestion is only suitable if you can safely stand on one foot.
    • When applying an arm sleeve or gauntlet, hold the wrist cuff when you first put your hand through a compression garment can prevent it from slipping up the arm. This also applies to tubular bandages.

    EzyAs compression stocking applicator FAQs

How do I load the compression stocking onto the applicator?

Loading your garment onto the EzyAs compression stocking applicator:

Note: Please also refer to the video above, which explains loading of a compression stock onto the EzyAs compression stocking applicator.

    STEP 1
Position the applicator on a firm surface at a comfortable working height with the elongated hole facing you. Ensure the heel of your stocking is centred to the hole as well as you lower the garment into the applicator.

    STEP 2
Grip your garment and slide it down over the outside of the applicator until the heel pocket is at the top and aligned with the centre of the applicator.

How do I apply a compression stocking onto a leg?

How to apply a compression stocking to a leg using the EzyAs compression stocking applicator:

Note: Please also refer to the second video above, which explains loading of a compression stock onto the EzyAs compression stocking applicator.

    STEP 1
Seated in a cross-legged position, place the loaded applicator over your toes. Hold the heel pocket as your toes enter the stocking.

    STEP 2
Release the heel pocket of your garment as it aligns with the heel of your foot.

    STEP 3
Your heel will slide into the elongated hole as you continue to move the applicator along your foot. As the EzyAs changes direction around your ankle, slide the stocking along the outside of the applicator to assist in making it a smooth turn.

    STEP 4
Slide your garment off the applicator as you move it towards your knee.

    STEP 5
When fitting the above knee type stockings, remove the EzyAs at the base of your knee by simply moving it backwards to free it and continue to slide the upper leg portion of your garment into place by hand.

How do I apply a compress stocking to another person?

To apply a compression stocking to another person using the EzyAs compression stocking applicator:

    STEP 1
When applying an open toe stocking, grip the stocking against the applicator to prevent it from sliding off as you position it over the toes. Once the heel pocket is in place, release your grip and slide the stocking off the applicator with your hands.

    STEP 2
Ensure the heel and toe are in the correct position, the stocking is at the correct height and there are no wrinkles.

Note: Please also refer to the video above which explains loading of a compression stock onto the EzyAs compression stocking applicator.

What if I'm between sizes on the size chart?

If you find that you measure between sizes, both sizes are likely suitable as there is a leniency in the size guide. However, you may find some other considerations help you to choose the most suitable stocking aid for your needs.

A smaller size: higher pressure compression stocking requires greater hand strength to pull over the applicator, thus the smaller option may be best for your needs.

A larger size: the larger option will help if you have less flexibility and mobility of the leg. A larger size allows you to pull the stocking further up the leg before it slides out.
