    Seems to be better designed than competitors but too early to tell overall.

    The product seems to be better designed than its competitors which we have used. The grinding action seems less "strenuous" than others and the LED placement shows better design. It is still too early to tell how robust the units are, which is why the 4/5 stars given. Grinding is effective so far though.

    It's very nice to be able to press a large-enough button and hear it grinding

    It's very nice to be able to press a large-enough button and hear it grinding. Saving my thumb from having to grasp the old manual S+P shakers. Only thing not clear to me is which way to turn the under-unit dial to get smaller sized sprinkles. Not a big deal, we'll experiment. Rechargeable is a big plus, no more batteries to change and discard safely.

    Excellent salt and pepper grinders

    It was a very pleasant surprise to discover just how good these salt and pepper grinders are. They are easy to hold and operate and it is surprising as to the generous amount of salt and pepper that is dispensed with just a brief light touch of the button. Having the light illuminating the output is also helpful. These are the best salt and pepper grinders that I have ever had.....and I hope that they have a long and happy life! The grinders come with a clear acrylic tray to store them securely and everything is easy to keep clean. One of the reasons that I chose these particular grinders is that they can be disassembled and the salt/pepper container part can be hand washed and thoroughly dried in between refills. The initial charging process via USB took around 90 minutes and the instructions advise that this should last for about 3 months.
    My order of these grinders arrived in 3 days and I have been very pleased with the whole process of dealing with The Independence Shop.

    They work well, do what they should do. So much easier to use than manual grinders, especially with arthritic fingers. Let’s hope they last.

    Lighter than other grinders I have had. Easy to fill.
    No batteries, easy recharge with usb.
    Tray to sit them in is handy too.
    Also being able to adjust the grinders to suit your preference for salt and pepper.

    Perfect for my elderly mother. Light weight and a easy to use as the button is on the side .

    Having the button on the side of the grinder makes it easier to use.
    Slightly lighter in weight compared with others grinders.
    No batteries needed you charge them using the USB cables.
    Gave this to Mum for Christmas and she love the them.

    Used some other grinders previously which also looked great but the buttons were too hard to press. Therefore, bought those grinders and the buttons are perfect. Just touch them slightly.

    The daily grind

    I'm happy with my upgrade from normal salt and pepper grinders. I can see how these salt and pepper grinders would be fantastic for someone with arthritic hands as well. The buttons protrude a little and they're easy to press. I like the light, can see how much salt is going onto my food. Should have also bought one for the kitchen as well!
